I took Oct. 2005-Oct. 2006 off
from the library profession. I found a boat through a Yahoo
search for $1. If that doesn’t tell you what a fine research librarian
I am—my detailed two page resume will. I learned a lot in that year as
I ended up living on that boat for five months alone, which I didn’t
plan. Primarily I learned that I was a tenacious, hard working, tough and
utterly capable of building real things on my strengths and better things off
my failures. As of Oct. 2006 I am again
seeking a position as a librarian. I am interested in a job with a world of
challenge and a sea of things I can really get my hands on to take my two
page resume to a three page classic. From cataloging (original) to
government documents to In my year of living on the boat
I’ve realized that real life – and even REAL librarianship –
